Position: Medical Billing Specialist

Employment Type: Full-Time (80 hours per 2-week pay period)
Pay: From $15.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
No weekends or holidays
Role Overview:

Prepare and submit accurate claims to Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payers

Research and apply current federal and insurance billing regulations

Ensure compliance while maximizing reimbursement

Perform comprehensive follow-up with payers for timely payments
-
Educate hospital personnel on billing regulations and reimbursement impact

Handle confidential medical and financial information
-
Complete additional duties assigned by leadership
Key Responsibilities:

Timely preparation and submission of insurance claims

Monitor changing billing regulations and payer requirements

Investigate claim denials and resolve reimbursement issues

Maintain compliance with healthcare billing standards

Support revenue cycle efficiency
Required Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma or equivalent
-
1 year experience in healthcare or accounting setting OR completion of medical coding/billing course(s)
Preferred Qualifications:

3–5 years related healthcare or accounting experience

1–3 years direct experience with claims, insurance, or patient accounting
