About the Position

Bright Vision Technologies is looking for a Principal Applications Engineer.

The position will lead major enterprise architecture initiatives and long-term technology strategy. The engineer will design scalable and reliable distributed systems and guide important technical decisions across the organization.

This is a senior technical leadership position. It requires strong system design skills, performance engineering knowledge, reliability expertise, and the ability to influence multiple teams.

• Lead architecture decisions at enterprise scale.

• Lead cross-team technical initiatives.
• Work across multiple business units.
• Guide engineering teams on technical direction.
• Mentor senior engineers.
• Help improve engineering culture.
• Balance technical depth with long-term business needs.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proven experience designing high-scale distributed systems in production.
• Advanced knowledge of Java, Go, C++, or similar backend languages.
• Strong understanding of data modeling.
• Strong system optimization skills.
• Strong performance tuning experience.
• Experience leading technical initiatives across teams.
• Experience working across multiple business units.
• Strong reliability engineering knowledge.
• Strong knowledge of distributed architectures.
• Experience making enterprise-level architecture decisions.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Excellent verbal communication skills.
• Experience mentoring senior engineers.
• Ability to influence engineering culture and technical direction.

Preferred Qualifications

• Public technical contributions.
• Technical papers or presentations.
• Open-source leadership experience.
• Experience leading multi-year technology transformation programs.
• Familiarity with FinOps.
• Experience with large-scale cost optimization.
• Experience in regulated industries such as financial services, healthcare, or government.
• Advanced degree or equivalent industry recognition.
