About the Position
Future First Criminal Law is hiring an experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to take on an active caseload.
The position includes case reviews, prosecutor negotiations, court appearances, motions, client communication, and record removal work.
Defense cases are limited to Maricopa County. Attorneys are not required to bring in their own clients or perform sales duties.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage an active criminal defense caseload.
- Handle misdemeanor cases.
- Handle low-level felony cases.
- Review criminal defense cases.
- Communicate with prosecutors.
- Negotiate case outcomes.
- Prepare and file motions.
- Attend court appearances.
- Handle client communications.
- Provide regular case updates.
- Prepare for upcoming court dates.
- Review case details carefully.
- Work toward efficient case outcomes.
- Support clients throughout the legal process.
Record Removal Responsibilities
About one-quarter to one-third of the position involves Arizona record removal matters.
These matters may include:
- Set asides.
- Record sealing.
- Expungements.
- Application review.
- Document review.
- Signing completed applications.
- Court appearances when required.
- Virtual court appearances when appropriate.
The firm prepares the applications and its paralegal handles filing. The attorney reviews and signs the work before submission.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed attorney with criminal defense experience.
- Experience handling criminal defense cases.
- Ability to work independently.

Work Structure
The position is fully remote.
Attorneys work from home when they are not in court. Team communication is handled through Zoom and other remote systems.
Court appearances are limited to Maricopa County.
There is no daily office commute. The firm also does not require attorneys to bring in their own cases.
Schedule
- Full-time position.
- Approximately 40 hours per week.
- Work is structured to support a sustainable schedule.
- Court dates may affect daily scheduling.
- Remote work is available when not in court.
Compensation
Salary is $90K per year.
Spanish-fluent attorneys receive $95K per year.
Bonuses are provided on top of salary. Current attorneys earn around $10K per year or more through established bonuses.
